Here are some references from horse owners. I have removed last names, email address and phone numbers for privacy. I have several that need to be scanned so I can add them on to this page and others transferred over from the guestbook. (please forgive the typo's as they are transferred over as is). |

April 30, 2008 (taken from guest book) Wanted to say thank you for helping me with my Stallion at the Vet clinic a few weeks back. The groundwork you did on him was amazing in such a short amount of time and he responded very quickly to you. It has always taken 3 or 4 people and calming drugs to get him in the trailer.
You had him walking in calmly in under an hour after he decided to try and drag you around, you sure put a stop to that quick like. He is respecting the halter and my space now and is no longer striking out at me, I just knew he was going to hit you when he reared up and you to my amazement just moved over quickly and made him move. I do not think in the 3 years that I have had him he has done that much movement unless it was to run me out of his pen.
I am taking your advice and will geld him it took some time to think about it and I want to ride him. Just needed to drop you a line to say thanks again for what you did. Tom

March 6, 2006 (taken from Guestbook) Kim, wanted to say thank you for helping me get my mare in the trailer a few weeks back. When the Vet Dr. Merry, said she knew someone to call I got really worried and just knew my horse was going to be traumitized worse than she already was.
I was amazed that it took you about 20 minutes and she was loading all by herself with no pressure on the rope and was even willing to go in.
I cannot say thank you enough not only for loading her without drugs but so that she is secure enough to load on her own and for showing me that I have to be the boss.
Thank you many times over, Trina

March 18, 2002 Kim, wanted to let you know that Kai is doing so much better. I can now load her in the trailer on my own and she just goes right in. She no longer runs backwards when she see's a rope behind her, I am still desentizing her with it every week like you said. My husband and I can both just loop her lead around her neck and she just walks into the trailer.. Just wanted to say thank you very much. Sheril and Tom, Humble Tx. NOTE: Kai is Morab that they were using a butt rope on to get into trailers. She flipped over several times, required sutures from one incident, their 'friends' also used whips, twitches and other horses to pull her into the trailer. I got her loading within 2 hours without abusing her and I desensitized her to the butt rope (she would break out into a sweat, kick out, run backwards, anything she could to get away from a rope behind her). Sheril was rubbing rope over her body to let her know that it is ok and was not going to hurt her. This was copied from an old email On 11.3.06 I sent an email to Sheril and got an error about it not being a valid email address, contact number is bad also.

May 15, 2006 Hey Kim, just wanted to say thanks for helping me out at the arena on loading my gelding. My boyfriend was being a jerk.. (portion deleted for my viewing audience). Tank now leads like a horse should so thanks for showing me how to correct him. It is nice to be able to lead him and not have my toes crunched or being run over or him yanking away from me. I cannot believe what you did in about 20 minutes, it has been a huge change in him, he is not pulling my shoulder out of joint. I was not understanding what you were doing at first when you came out to the house. You got him in the trailer after 15 minutes then unloaded him, I counted about 35 times with him first putting a foot in then running up to it and loading after about 45 minutes. He now loads each and every time, I just lay his lead rope across his back and he goes right in. Everyone at the arena last week was so impressed with how he acted, I gave your name to a few folks, but most do not want to turn loose a dollar for good training. I will be sending you my filly in 2008 so do not forget you promised to get her started for me. Shelly M. (New Caney)

From a 360 Blog August 22, 2007 Thank you Kim C. for your trailer loading tips at the river,we spent less than 1/2 hour on loading Kim B.s pretty appaloosa Blitz 6times in and out ,it only took a couple circles toward door and someone stand behind and in she goes, big test tommarow Kim B. and I going to 2666 to ride in morning, let you all know how she does, the driving her toward the door technique is one I never seen and it works, I am going to try it on Kim Bs TB next! This was a good step forward yeah Blitz! August 23, 2007 Hi everyone, I took Kim B. out to 2666 this morning with her new horse Blitz, as any of you know who went to the river ride she gave us a bit of trouble loading, well I am happy to say that with Kim C.s technique she showed us we are sucessfully loading Blitz, she did it in three tries at home this morning(without food rewards anymore) and one try at the forest, Kim B. and her are bonding real well together, now we just got to get the buck out at a canter, but we had a real quiet ride totally uneventful just the way I like them! I will post more notice next time so maybe some of you all can join us..Till then happy Trails..... |
